# Data dictionary — FDA approved peptides reference

Edition and check date: 2026-10-14. Jurisdiction: United States.

## Ingredient file

`fda-approved-peptides.csv` and `.json` contain one row per normalized ingredient in this selected reference. They are not a comprehensive FDA census. Count unique `row_id` values; never count brands, strengths or salt aliases as additional ingredients.

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| row_id | Permanent ingredient key and basis for the page anchor |
| ingredient | Familiar normalized ingredient name; the FDA record governs exact chemical/salt identity |
| aliases | Documented alternative name(s); blank means none collected, not none exist |
| inclusion_group | peptide_or_modified_peptide or larger_protein_or_fusion; this is an editorial grouping, not a new FDA classification |
| example_product | Named reference product(s); current generic vs discontinued reference brand shown where needed |
| reference_application | Application used for the date/reference record, including NDA/BLA identifier |
| reference_application_original_approval_date | Original approval of that application; not necessarily first ingredient, brand, selected formulation, or every indication approval |
| route | Route(s) of the named examples; not a permission to substitute routes |
| selected_labeled_use | Paraphrase of selected product-label indications, not all warnings/eligibility rules |
| database_marketing_status | What the checked product entries establish; not retail availability |
| record_url / label_url | Exact FDA record and FDA-hosted prescribing information used |
| additional_record_url / additional_label_url | Extra product/generic record, label or explanatory source when needed |
| classification_basis | Structural description/source basis; no uniform molecular-length census is claimed |
| check_date | Date this row's sources were inspected; label's own vintage may be older |
| notes | Date, formulation, product-status or source-depth qualifications |

For Humulin R, the original application date is 1982; selected U-500 labeling lists its later 1994 initial approval. For cyclosporine, the reference date is Neoral capsules, 1995; Sandimmune ingredient history and Restasis's 2002 approval are preserved in notes. For eptifibatide/daptomycin, the original branded application date is separate from the currently prescription-listed generic record.

## GLP-1 crosswalk

`glp1-product-approval-crosswalk.csv`: one selected product/formulation row, with product, ingredient, application, route, selected uses, original application date, FDA record/label URLs, check date, notes. It contains 9 rows, 3 ingredients and 8 applications. Ozempic tablets and Rybelsus tablets share NDA 213051. An application date does not establish the first date for every later brand name under it.

## Historical/status files

`fda-peptide-historical-status.csv`: ingredient, product, application, stated status, withdrawal effective date where established, original application date if collected, primary source, check date, notes. An empty date means not collected/not applicable; it is not zero. Discontinued marketing status is separate from formal withdrawal of approval.

`popular-peptide-approval-checks.csv`: popular name, narrowly stated approval finding, scope note, source, check date. The absence of a name in the ingredient file or a safety-risk document does not establish nonapproval. Explicit FDA assessments support categorical statements; other entries state only what this review identified.

`claim-ledger.csv` is an editorial audit file. It is not a public consumer dataset distribution and need not be published. It records claim, exact source, check date, confidence/status and scope.

Original organization/summaries may be reused with Peptide Care Index named as source. Preserve underlying FDA references and third-party terms. No link is required or requested.
